What is the secret ingredient in this chocolate-chip-cookie?
This chocolate-chip-cookie is delicious. Who would ever guess the secret ingredient in this chocolate-chip-cookie-recipe? The secret is a tablespoon of vinegar. It gives this crisp bottom cookie a carmelized flavor and a chewy texture. While testing, I was a bit skeptical of adding vinegar to my dough! Now, I wonder what other delicious recipes have vinegar added.
I love this recipe and hope this becomes one of your favorite new chocolate-chip-recipes! This recipe was sent in by a teen girl that loves to cook and bake! She even submitted her own photo. There is nothing better than seeing a young person learning to cook and bake! Way to go Emily!

Directions:
- Position cooking rack to the center of your oven.
- Preheat oven to 350°F
- Grease your cookie sheets. (You may use non-stick spray or butter.)
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together your butter, sugars, salt, vanilla and vinegar. Mix until thoroughly creamed and mixed.
- Beat in the egg, baking soda and slowly the flour.
- Scrape the bowl and mix one more time.
- Now, add your chocolate chips and stir.
- Using a tablespoon or cookie scoop, drop your dough by spoonfuls onto the cookie sheet.
- Put them in the oven and bake for 12 minutes. (This is for a soft cookie!) (If you would like a chewier cookie, please bake for 1-2 minutes longer before removing from the oven!)
- Let them sit on the cookie sheet for 1-2 minutes to finish baking.
- Remove the cookies from the baking sheet and place onto a cooling rack.
- Now enjoy these cookies! I'll bet they'll be gone before you have time to store any!
