Turtle-Brownies
Ingredients:
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3 cups granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 cups butter melted
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 (12 ounce)package of semi-sweet chocolate chunks (divided)
- 2 cups coarsely chopped pecans or walnuts (divided)
- 1 small bottle of Hershey's Caramel ice cream topping.( I like the squirt bottle.) (We won't use it all!)
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Line a 13 x 9 inch pan baking pan with aluminum foil (heavy duty)and grease or spray with non-stick cooking spray.
- Combine melted butter and cocoa powder into a medium bowl and mix well. Set this aside.
- Next, in a large mixing bowl, beat your eggs and sugar at medium speed. Do this until they get fluffy. This will take about 5 minutes.
- Add your butter and cocoa mixture to your eggs and sugar.
- Add your flour, salt and vanilla. Mix just until combined.
- Now, Spread only half of your brownie batter into your prepared pan.
- Drizzle a layer of your caramel sauce over top of your brownie batter.
- Sprinkle half of your chopped nuts and chocolate chunks over the caramel sauce.
- Now drizzle a little bit more caramel sauce over top of your nuts and chocolate chunks.
- Spread your remaining chocolate batter evenly over top of the mints. (Please do this carefully!)
- Repeat the layering steps for the caramel, nuts and chocolate chips.
- Bake in your oven for about 35 minutes.
- Let completely cool in your pan before serving.
- Enjoy!
